How do I become a member of SCC?
An audition with the Artistic or Assistant Director is required. No preparation is necessary. To schedule an audition, call the Southlake Children’s Choir Office at 219-713-1559.
What are the fees for a member of SCC?
The yearly tuition for SCC is $450.00 – uniform rental is included in this amount. A $50.00 deposit is needed when your child is accepted or re-enrolls in SCC. This deposit will count towards tuition and reserves a spot in the Choir for your child. Are payment plans available? SCC offers a number of ways to assist with tuition. We offer a 3-Month Payment Plan (This includes three installments of $100.00 by Sept. 15, Oct. 30, and Dec. 15.) and a 7-Month Payment Plan (This includes seven installments of $50.00 beginning in May 2016 through December 20156 Members joining SCC after May 2015 would divide $450.00 between the months leading up to December 2016 to determine a monthly payment amount). Payments may be made with a credit card.
Is financial assistance available?
For those needing financial assistance, SCC does accept partial scholarship applications at the beginning of the year – more information will be discussed regarding payment options and scholarship applications at the opening parent meeting. SCC will also provide a Fall Fundraiser to help lower the tuition amount for members.
When does the choir rehearse?
The SCC Season begins in September and concludes in May. Apprentice Choir rehearses Monday evenings at Our Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church in Crown Point from 5:30-6:30 p.m., the Concert Choir also rehearses on Monday evenings at Our Shepherd Evangelical Lutheran Church from 6:30-8:00 p.m.
What other time commitments are involved?
In order to be in good standing with SCC, members must attend rehearsals regularly and perform at all performances.
When are auditions held?
Auditions are held throughout the year.
When will I find out if I have been accepted? You will be notified by mail within a week of your audition. If you have been accepted, you will receive further instructions and paperwork with your acceptance letter.
